User Interface Design

Why do it?
User Interface Design is the essential element of the design of a site or application that specifically examines how to enable users of the system to accomplish their objectives most efficiently.  This is accomplished through a three-phase process that begins with a detailed definition of the target audience(s) for an interface and their specific, functional objectives.  The second phase converts these written requirements to an interface architecture that describes page layout and functionality without the distraction of a visual design (i.e. colors, illustrations, images).  Finally, these layouts are documented in a detailed specification that acts as a foolproof instruction manual for constructing the interface.

What's delivered?
A User Interface Specification, which is an invaluable document with a multitude of uses.  First and foremost, our Specifications are used by our clients to provide a set of detailed instruction to their development team that leaves nothing to chance.  User Interface Specifications can also be used as the basis for a vendor selection process.  Providing all prospective vendors with a fully-developed description of the functional and interface requirements of a system, facilitates an "apples to apples" comparison of competing bids, as well as insuring that all bids accurately reflect the effort and cost that will ultimately be required.
